Garage kits are made from high impact resin from a 3D printer, so they will have some abrasions from the supports that hold up the doll pieces during production. However, it is not required to sand them, but areas such as the upper thighs, head-cap, and chest piece has more abrasions as more supports are needed, so you may wish to smooth the areas a little bit for aesthetic reasons.
For in stock items such as garage kits and full sets, expect 1-2 weeks for your doll to be shipped as the artist may complete the shipments in increments. If you have requested a custom addition to your order such as a face-up, expect the doll to be shipped within 4-6 weeks as the artist must paint your doll as well as others' dolls. You will receive an email once your doll has been shipped, or if there are any delays in your shipment.
Due to the nature of the dolls being art pieces rather than products, there are no returns or exchanges, however if your Quartstar arrived broken (not including abrasions from 3D print supports) or missing parts, email at admin@quartstar.com within 5 days of your doll arriving and your item will be replaced without charge. Anytime after this grace period, you must pay for supplies and shipping to reduce risk of scams. Thank you for understanding!
At this time, Quartstar currently only ships throughout the United States and Canada, if you live outside of this area and want to purchase a Quartstar, email at admin@quartstar.com to discuss options. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Yes! Gumi is an exclusive head sculpt only found in the Pluto size, but her head is the same magnet and wig size as the Genesis line (6-7inch). Her eye is also a part of her sculpt, meaning that there is no need to purchase eyes for her and you make her eye when completing her makeup unless you commission the Quartstar artist to do it for you, then the eye will be made for you. You can use acrylic paint and clear gel nail polish (UV) to make the iris for Gumi.
Everyone uses their own style and supplies so they differ. Many people do use watercolour pencils (Prismacolour brand works great, avoid inexpensive brands as they tend to not be soft enough) and acrylic paint for line-work such as eyelashes and eyebrows. Acrylic paint brands do not matter too much as long as the viscosity of the paint is on the thinner side (can use water to thin the paint out as well.) I use paints from Gundam stores as they are very thin and work great for fine lines. Chalk pastels are often used for the blush, eye shadow, and body blushing. I use Prismacolour pastels as well. You can use MR Super Clear Matte to set the face before and after the makeup is finished so that the makeup both won't stain the face or wipe off. Please use this sealant in a well ventilated area or outside with the correct protective equipment such as a mask and gloves as the material is toxic.
